Colonnade Florist is a multi- award winning florist, working from our new studio in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells. We are made up of two main florists, Sharon (who owns the business) and Charlie. Working alongside us are our trusted delivery drivers, who expertly get your flowers delivered all around Tunbridge Wells and Kent (you may have spotted our beautiful purple Beetle 'Daisy' around town).
For large scale events & busy periods such as Valentines Day and Mothers Day, we also have a team of incredible freelance florists that we trust completely.
In 2019, we moved out of our High Street Shop and into a studio in, Tunbridge Wells.
This year we moved again, upgrading our space to a state of the art two story floral studio. We are luck enough to be surroounded by Kent Countryside, and can even see lambs pottering around in the fields outside our windows! Nestled in the centre of quiet Kent Gardens, we are never short of floral inspiration! Even on frosty winter mornings, or cold rainy days, our view is simply stunning. During the summer months, we are lucky enough to be surrounded by an abundance of foliage, which we love incorporate into our designs (you'll often see one of us emerge from a bush looking rather smug about finding the perfect bit of fern to complete a bridal bouquet).
Laid out across two stories, we are lucky enough to have the space and capacity to take on large scale events and orders, and even have a huge walk in cooler to make sure your flowers don't over heat in the summer - yes, we have been known to stand in there on particularly hot days!
I have been a Florist for most of my life- beginning my training when I was just 15. I realised my passion for flowers when I was only 9 or 10, and my step dad bought me home a bunch of freesias from work one day. It was a small gesture, that he no doubt forgot, but this simple gift meant the world to me and from then on I was adamant that i was going to own a florist business. Skip forward a few years and I now hold the highest possible qualifications that you can achieve for floristry, as well as several awards including the much coveted Gold Medal at Chelsea!
My personality is very colourful and bold, and I like to reflect this in my designs- a complimenting contrast to Charlie who leans more towards soft pastels. I love that every day in our profession is different from the last, and each arrangement is unique.
I joined Sharon back in 2016, after graduating from uni with a degree in Events Management. Although I loved my course, I found myself entering into a corporate world, which I really didn't belong in. I began taking floral design courses as an outlet for my creativity and just like that I was completely obsessed!
I was lucky that Sharon found me at just the right time, when I was desperate to become a florist and she was in need of a bit of a social media boost! My marketing background and Sharon's floral expertise has made us the perfect team. She has trained me in all the wonderful parts of the floral world, and my passion for flowers is still growing (pardon the pun).
I'm one of the lucky few to be in a job I truly love, i am in my element surrounded by flowers. The wedding side of our business is really my baby, and I am now the wedding designer for Colonande and oversee all the details for my couples, from the initial consultation right the way through to the big day. I am never happier than when i'm meeting with a couple, arranging a table display or at the venue creating a huge installation.
