Always The Florist...

Well, after 11 years with my partner and 10 years as a florist- it was finally my turn to get married!!

Weddings and wedding flowers are my whole life- I'm not lying when I say to my couples that I am completely obsessed with weddings. And so, when it finally came time to plan by own I pretty much had my vision mapped out the day after we got engaged, particularly when it came to our wedding flowers.

Fortunately, I have a very patient and understanding (now) husband, who let me fall down an endless pinterest rabbit hole and take the reins on the design aspect of our planning while he meticulously spreadhseeting the whole thing out. I have always wanted a Christmas wedding, and have been dreaming of the perfect combinations of colours, flowers, dresses, candles and fairylights to give that warm, elevated, cosy Chritmas- meets- autumn feel.

I had SO much fun designing my wedding flowers. So many people, my husband included, said it would be a mistake to make them myself and that this would cause me too much stress. Making my flowers was probably the least stressful part of planning, I loved doing it with the help of Sharon and Jan, and when I saw how Sharon had set them up on the day it was a dream come true.

Our wedding day was like a complete fairytail. We got so lucky with the weather, it was beautiful sunshine in the middle of December and we had so much fun with our amazing photographer Lauren getting those golden hour shots. The staff at The Ravenswood could not have been more accomodating and a joy to work with, especially our co-ordinator Katie. Our DJ was amazing and knew exactly how to get the dancefloor vibing. Deborah and the team at Hall of Fame styling were so fun to work with and made us all feel incredible. I am so lucky that we got to have this amazing day, with such incredible suppliers.
